This is a 14k gold necklace featuring a heart with two freshwater pearls. The charm and pearls are really pretty. The chain is VERY short, I don't think it's actually 16-18". Unless you're tiny you'll need an extender. It's maybe 14". It's stamped as being 14k and isn't attracted to a magnet. Unfortunately my acid test kit is packed away for moving so I couldn't test it with that.My biggest complaint is actually the chain. It's short, it's thin, and each individual link is also made of really thin material that looks like it's stamped out of an ultra-thin gold sheet. The design means there is no way to change it out for a stronger chain or replace the chain when it breaks. Which, if you're not careful, is gonna happen pretty quickly. And this charm could have EASILY been designed to accommodate a replacement chain...but they chose not to do that.What do they think, someone's gonna run right out and buy a brand-new necklace if it breaks???If you buy this and the main chain breaks, and you're attached to it for emotional reasons, it could be fixed by adding a bail to the middle of the heart. A jeweler would have to do it (and they could remove the existing built-in rings) but then you could put a new chain through the bail.Overall it's cute as a gift for an older teen or young adult, but it has a short thin chain that is likely easily broken and it's designed to fail and be irreparable when it could have easily been designed for longevity. I would not buy it again.
