What can I clean with this jewelry cleaner?

Our Gentle Jewelry Cleaner cleans all precious metals, gemstones, porous stones, and more. For heavily tarnished silver, we recommend using our silver-specific Silver Cleaner instead.

How often can I use this jewelry cleaner?

We recommend you use the cleaner every day for the best results. It’s safe for daily use!

Are these products safe to use on soft stones like pearls? How about an engagement ring or wedding ring?

Yes! Our cleaner has a gentler formula that won’t wear down softer stones like pearl, opal, emerald, turquoise, amber, coral, and onyx. Our Gentle Jewelry Cleaner is also ideal for using as an engagement ring cleaner or wedding ring cleaner.

Do I need to use a polishing cloth after cleaning?

You can! We recommend that you pat items dry with any soft cloth after using the cleaner. If desired, you can follow up with one of our polishing cloths to get a little bit of added shine.

How will the jewelry cleaner affect my skin?

Unlike harsher cleaners, our gentle formulas won’t irritate your skin.

This is the type of business we all should support, small, family-owned, focused on the customer, the quality of the product, and the support they provide. When my original “Simple Shine” arrived, the plastic container had cracked during shipping, spilling most of its contents. It was most likely a shipping issue (ie UPS) as virtually ever precaution that could have been taken, had been taken to wrap the product. So I emailed the Simple Shine, past business hours, to request instructions on how I might obtain a replacement. Within less than an hour, I received an email from the owner herself, Elisse, extremely apologetic who promised to ship out a replacement immediately. Before I knew it, I had another “Simple Shine” in my hands. I should also tell you I ordered two similar jewelry cleaning products, or so I thought. Simple Shine, promising to be gentle and no toxic, and the other, the highest rated product on Amazon. I used each product on different nights, both cleaned the items in exactly the same time, but the difference, the other product, caused my hands to burn and become irritated, then dried out, with what looked like hives - whereas Simple Shine, my girlfriend put the bracelet on her next almost immediately,’and it looked beautiful, she felt beautiful, and her skin not a hint of harsh chemicals. So what would you want to put in your mouth, wear around you neck, or wrist, have near your kids or pets, or accidentally or worse yet, in your eyes or mouth. If the quality of the product, and the safety of you and/or your family, and the type of service you receive, and respect and appreciation for your business matters to you, then there is no other company and product line to even consider. While Amazon makes our lives quick and easy, things delivered to our doors, we sometimes forget to pay attention to what business we are supporting and the quality of the products we are ordering... trust me, pay attention, and buy Simple Shine, you will be happy you did.

I've wondered for years how to clean my stone and sterling jewelry that's too hard to thoroughly clean with a jewelry cloth but can't be cleaned with silver cleaners because of the stones. This cleaner solves that problem! Sterling shines up beautifully, none of the stones set in silver were harmed, and lesser metals cleaned up too. I have a necklace with silver, brass, and onyx beads that I thought I would have to give up on because the brass was so badly tarnished and crusty, yet after multiple soaks, the necklace now looks good enough to wear and the onyx is undamaged. My only complaints have to do with the packaging. The 6-oz. jar is too small and narrow to fit cuff and bangle bracelets and some necklaces. The brush can be hard to fit into its holder. Also, I discovered that the jar's shape makes it easy to knock over when I accidentally hit into it and it tipped over into the sink when it was still 2/3 full. That was an expensive mistake. Fortunately, I see that a concentrated version of this solution is now available, which should save money if it works as well as this version. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I like this cleanser-- it's nice, safe, and gentle. However, I took one star off because I noticed that after using it on some of my jewelry, they turned copperish and appeared even more tarnished. One of my necklaces even started chipping. :( I don't know if it was because of the cheapness/low-quality of the jewelry or if it was the cleanser's fault. There is some jewelry that I noticed turning copperish/"greenish" even after only using soap and water to clean, so it may not have been the cleanser. I was still not expecting it to do this, however. I mean, after all, I bought the cleanser so I wouln't have to use soap and water. :/ Still, I did notice that some of my jewelry turned more shiny after using it-- my gold chain looked golder than ever and my silver more silver than ever. In my opinion, it works best on silver (any silver, but especially the higher-quality silvers such as sterling). I did not notice that big of a difference in the jewelry that was already badly tarnished (probably need a stronger one), but I will continue to buy this one because I trust its safeness and its ability to make jewelry clean so that I will be comfortable wearing them.

I needed something to gently clean my garnet/diamond/white gold engagement ring. Something that wouldn't damage the garnet, since garnets are not as strong as diamonds. There's lots of hard to reach crevices in the ring that tend to get dingy from soap, hand lotion, makeup, etc. and I simply could not keep it clean with normal hand washing. Because I couldn't clean the area under the stone where the light shines through it, the garnet looked dull and like costume jewelry. Using a ultrasonic cleaner can sometimes be bad for gemstones, so I'm not willing to take that risk. So far this stuff has worked very well. It's gentle enough to use every day, so a daily 2 minute soak and occasional light scrubbing with the brush, (which is included) is plenty to keep it clean and sparkly. It feels soapy, not corrosive, it rinses off easily and doesn't smell bad like some other cleaners I've used in the past.My only request would be to make the bristles on the brush a bit longer. For most jewelry the brush is of sufficient size, but the design of my ring is a bit different and I can't quite get to a super hard to reach area in a very narrow opening under the main stone. I may see if I can find a brush with longer bristles to use with this cleaning solution.Beyond that, the company was very proactive in making sure that my order arrived undamaged. It can be difficult to ship liquids, but it arrived just fine.
