I got this necklace because I do have a fair amount of anxiety regularly. I have been thinking about getting a stress ball, I really do enjoy those. However, I saw this necklace and I thought "there is something I haven't tried yet" and, it's something that can always be carried with me since it's in a necklace form. I do try to remind myself to breathe when stressed. However, this is a visual reminder and I likely won't be able to forget when wearing this necklace. When the necklace arrived, the 'whistle' was separate from the cord. This is because there are three different length options to choose from. I chose the shortest length because the other lemgths look too much like a referee's whistle on me at my height of 5'6". Then, I put it to the test: breathing in slowly and then breathing out into the whistle. No matter how quickly I breathe out, it still works perfectly fine. I noticed that the more I did this, the slower my breath got. I wasn't sure if it helped my anxiety until I went back to working on some extensive journaling. Normally, I have a hard time writing about things and get pretty anxious. This time, I had felt zero anxiety and I was able to write for some time. It's interesting to me, my experience is that this type of stress comes from my childhood or some other difficult situation. Although I feel it is necessary to deal with the actual hurts of the past, I also believe that it's hard to get it all done right away. I believe this anxiety whistle is going to be an excellent addition to my toolbox. Great idea! Five stars.
