I'll admit I'm a watch fanatic and have WAY more watches than I should. I'm very protective of most of them, but my collection includes a couple of "beaters" - watches that I don't mind putting in harm's way out in the yard or in the garage. That category already had a 40mm version of the Timex Expedition quartz, which filled the bill nicely, but the deal on this newer model was such that I couldn't pass it up. And, as the title suggests, it's actually quite good. At 43mm it's a little larger than I prefer on my 7.5" wrist, but again it's a beater not a fashion statement. It wears comfortably, comes with a decent leather strap, and has excellent legibility. Although comfortable, I don't expect the strap to stand up to much abuse. But, with 20mm lugs, it won't be hard to replace. The case has good heft to it and is finished in a flat black. It has a very "ruggedly casual" vibe to it.The caseback is the press-on type. Water resistance is claimed at 50m, which means you'll probably be okay walking in the rain or washing your hands while wearing it, but that's about it. If you change your own batteries it will take a CR2016 when the time comes. Accuracy is very good, but no points for that as it's to be expected with a quartz. I was pleased to see the sweep of the second hand matches up with the indices (most of the time), a small thing which can be problematic with some cheaper watches. The red tip on the second hand is a nice touch. Although it looks like there is lume that has aged to a nice patina, there actually isn't any lume on the hands or dial. That's okay, this is an Indiglo so a push of the crown lights up the backlighting. It does require pushing the crown with your free hand, and the light only stays on as long as the crown is depressed. It would have been a nice feature if the light stayed on for a few seconds after actuation, though.All in all, I'm impressed with this watch. So much so that I'm pretty sure I'll feel badly the first time I bang the heck out of it in the garage. Somehow I don't think the watch will care.

nice looking watch to kick around, the price is right and it a Timex, keeps on ticking, right?. order a 20mm watch band for the watch and you're set. I ordered a 22mm, just a tad too big.

The watch is fine, looks good. But the date does not stay synced. Every week or so I have to manually update the day from the 23rd to the 24th for example.

A simple and handsome watch that reflects my personality. As a less is more type of person, I think this watch is a good match. It's easy to read and accurate. I like the size of 43 mm. The indiglo backlight is very useful and practical for using the watch in the dark. There are 3 things that, in my opinion, could be better: First, the watch band doesn't have the easy disconnect pins that make it easy to remove the watch band. Second, the date number could be larger to make it easier to read. Third, the second hand doesn't always line up with the markings on the dial. But all in all, this is a beautiful watch that serves its purpose very well and the price is extremely affordable. I recommend it highly.

The watch date space did not work. Date did not change. The accuracy looked good but this morning it had lost time. I am 81 years old and have had several Timex watches over the years, but never a problem. This is the first. Either give me a full credit or replacement.Also: Box did not contain any instructions.This is the first item ordered through Amazon to have a problem with. Everything else I have ordered hasbeen fine.

I been getting back to wearing a watch because I just do not drop my phone as much when I use that for the time and as I work of billable projects in the shop I work in it helps keep good accurate account of the time that I work on there projects. I also have gotten paint on it and I scraped it off with my fingernail and it did not stain the watch , I have bumped the glass a few times now and I can not see noticeable scratches so that is very durable. The leather strap also is very comfortable but sturdy. Overall for me it was a good buy and I like it.
