Pure Gold, known as 24k gold, is entirely gold, 24 parts out of 24. Most jewelry however, is made from either 18k, 14k, or 10k gold. Pure gold is alloyed with other metals for added strength and to produce a variety of colors, most commonly yellow, white, and rose. The percentage of gold to its weight plus the alloy is what is referred to as the karat of gold. Higher karat gold jewelry products offer heightened intrinsic value than their lower karat equivalents.

If treated carefully, gold jewelry can last a lifetime and handed down to future generations. To keep gold shining and scratch-free, avoid contact with harsh chemicals and store in a lined jewelry box or pouch. Smelting is a procedure wherein a metal is extracted from its ore by heating beyond melting point, usually with the presence of oxidizing agents. Through smelting, pure metals such as silver ingots and gold ingots are produced.

Through the years our company has been able to witness firsthand the production process of fine gold and sterling silver jewelry since we have manufacturers who create sterling silver chain and gold chain from smelting to final polishing and packaging. We also have ones who start from mixing alloys.

We watched as 24K gold is distributed accordingly to produce the desired gold carat chain, mixed with its corresponding alloy and melted and gets poured into a casting machine, solidified, then formed into a rod. We observed as the gold rod is turned into a coil then into a wire, which is then distributed to different types of machines that will create the gold chain necklace we need. We were also given the opportunity to have a hands-on experience of soldering the clasps on to the gold chain necklace.

Each KoolJewelry gold chain necklace is placed inside a zip lock type bag, then packaged in a KoolJewlery branded black velvet pouch; ready for gift giving.

Needed a thin chain that was almost invisable to show of my Dimond pendant. But I still wanted it to have a little sparkle unlike the gratis one that came with my pendant. This was perfect! I let out a little wow when I opened it. It is beautiful and beyond what I was expecting. Honestly for 37$ I wasn't even expecting real gold (it is!) It is delicate and thin but they have thicker available. The Dimond cut gives a little sparkle without looking like a dark solid shiney chain. I cant speak for its durability because this is a special occasion chain only. Though is any necklace chain is really safe from breaking?Update Jan 2018.Well folks it's been 4 years and my necklace is still hanging on! (See what i did there?) I wear it Every. Single. Day. I shower, sleep and brush my hair with it on. It looks delicate but this thing has survived the chaos which is my hair. I am very impressed. I'm now re-ordering because I have added this chain to a permanent pendant and need another one. I know others have reported there's breaking but that hasn't been my experience. With what I put mine through I'm shocked it hasn't.

Bought this to replace a very thin (~0.6mm) and delicate 10k white gold box chain that had a couple of kinks in it. This looks SO much nicer. The diamond cuts on the chain links really give a nice sparkle and this is so much stronger and less fuss than a box chain. Feels nicer too. Matched the 10k white gold pendant perfectly.

I have a beautiful white gold diamond pendant that I used to wear on a thin serpentine chain that I accidentally kinked, so I wanted to find the most delicate yet strong white gold cable chain (a type of necklace link that cannot kink) to show it off. This chain is PERFECT since I did not want the chain to compete with the pendant the way the flat chain did. It is a delicate shiny whisp of an elegant chain that ends up accentuating the beauty of the pendant. This chain is perfect for stick pendants as well (sometimes called journey pendants), since they would also look great when hanging from such a thin and elegant chain. If it comes in a 20+ inch version I will be buying that length also to wear with deeper cut dresses and blouses.

This chain is thinner than advertised - I placed it next to my old 0.7mm chain and it's far thinner and way too delicate. I would be afraid to put anything of value on this chain, as it looks like it would snap very easily. I returned the chain and am looking for a better option.
