I bought the May for myself and the January birthstone for my daughter and I love the screw back. The post is a bit long but they look great and feel very light on the ears. My daughter is 4 and she loves her earrings. I do have to say that the lighter color stones are shinier than the darker ones. The emerald does not sparkle as much as the garnet or amethyst. But overall I would recommend.

These are a lovely alternative to the very expensive birthstones in regular jewelers' shops. That being said I give them 4 stars as I believe that the posts are too long for a child (even for my ears). In addition, the screw on backs, while very comfortable and helpful, are not threaded very long. In other words, my other pairs I had for my children had much shorter posts and the screw on part was such that it took several windings to secure them on. I wear a pair that I got for myself of those particular earrings, and they are indeed superior.These earrings are a reasonable alternative, and a child can sleep on them fine, as I do, but the post is long enough that I am always fiddling with pushing them flat against my ear. And I worry that they will come loose with normal activity (like shampooing) far easier than the old ones I wear. I have 3 holes, and I wear an original diamond pair in the 2nd one and these newer ones in the 3rd hole, keeping the original for changing earrings.In summation, these are very nice, but I would consider perhaps popping for the more expensive ones for babies and little kids. Mine never lost theirs ever. I have a tradition of presenting each new grandbaby with her first birthstone pair of earrings for whenever it's decided to pierce them. I give them as a present at their birth. 2 have had their's done as babies; one is waiting until she's five. Just a nice tradition to keep long after I'm gone.

The posts were so tiny! I spent 45 min trying to thread the back and still couldn't get them on my 1 yr old

I am so pleased with this purchase. If you are looking for earrings that your baby/toddler can not pull out then these are it. I wish I would have found these first before buying 4 other pairs (at Walmart- the worst! and Icing). These backs are a different shape then the cheap ones and they thread SO much better. I can't get them off with tugging and she's had them in a week with no problem (vs. less than a day with the others). Update: they haven't loosened at all in over 3 months. I'm still very pleased and am considering buying a pair for myself for my second holes so I can sleep in them.

Gift for grand daughter. Worn 1 time and a stone fell out. Tried contacting company through Amazon for replacement pair and received no help. Very disappointed in the whole situation.

Beautiful, just the right size for a second piercing and not too small for an adult.Easy to put in and no issues about losing once screwed together.
