My birthday is September 3rd. And this was my husband surprise gift. He got me this in the black and the brown it is quality super soft leather and you can adjust it to the link that you want. For those who had a hard time getting it to work, when you pull it out of the package don't make it even on each side like you would shoe strings make one side longer than the other after you double it and then wrap it around your neck as many times as you want to determine what the two different lengths are. I hope I'm explaining this right. If you want it to be long or short with the same length then you make sure that you haven't even like shoelaces when you double it. It is definitely a beautiful piece and worth every penny. I love my birthday gift
