The quality is excellent. I know that with great care it will last many years! The ballerina is set on a spring and when you close the lid, it gently lays down inside the compartment. So the only way to ruin it, is a child pulling on the ballerina or forcing it to go a way it’s not supposed to. Or putting too much in the compartment under where the ballerina rests, so it does lay flush like it’s supposed to.The song is pretty and the painting detail is perfect. Everything worked right out of the box like it’s supposed to. You wind up the ballerina on the back of the jewelry box, for the next time you open the lid. There’s so much room for accessories and trinkets! It’s a great gift!

Overall, this was a great girls first jewelry box. My only complaint is that I bought this due to the necklace hanger compartment which ended up being way way too small to advertise is to hang necklaces. None of her necklaces would fit inside that area even after doubling them up. Box needs to be a lot bigger to be able to hang necklaces so just be aware of that.
