So one of the things I always do with gemstones is hit them with the UV light, just to see what's going to happen. Usually not much, honestly. These little suckers LIT UP bright green. Not all alexandrite fluoresces, but that fact that it does is a pretty good indication that it's real. Lab created is real, just from a lab. Frequently lab alexandrite is a color changing corundum or similar, but all of that is fine and well accepted. Do note that lab alexandrite has a more purple/blue to pink/red change than the (incredibly expensive) natural stuff that does a more red/green situation. The color change has nothing to do with the cut. Alexandrite will change colors even in raw form, and in fact that's how it was discovered. They thought they had emeralds but then the raw gems turned RED when night fell. So alexandrite basically emits reflects two colors of light more or less equally (in the case of the mines here, red and green), and different light temperatures bring out the different colors. My other inexpensive lab alexandrite is pale pinkish lavender in incandescent (yellowish, since incandescent isn't super common these days) light, but outdoors it's a deep purple. Background aside - this one doesn't color change as much as my other one, but the stone is much paler to begin with so the color change is going to be more subtle. The fluorescence tells me that it is what it's claimed to be, though. The setting is stamped 925 on the wire, and doesn't react to a magnet other than at the hinge joint (which is normal and expected because you don't want the hinge made of sterling as it's not strong enough to stand up to that wear and tear), so I have no reason to doubt the metal. If you like a lovely pastel sort of alexandrite, this is not at all a bad choice, and the first time I've been able to say with reasonable certainty that a created stone IS created alexandrite. (Again, not all alexandrite fluoresces, so the absence doesn't mean it's NOT alexandrite - and every stone that glows isn't alexandrite, either, but with the color change and fluorescence I'm pretty comfortable, especially at this price range - $50 at time of review. If you're spending thousands, spend the extra hundred for full appraisal.)

These ruby pear-shaped stone earrings, adorned with a cubic zirconia (CZ) halo and a CZ accent, are very elegant. The hue of the ruby stone closely resembles the color of authentic rubies, and the CZs sparkle brilliantly, mimicking the appearance of real diamonds. The ruby stones are smaller than expected, but this enhances their authenticity, as genuine rubies are quite expensive. The craftsmanship is decent, and they are comfortable to wear. They make great gifts or a lovely addition to your own collection!

LIKE:Leverback--I have never lost an earring with a leverbackPretty opal (though it's not real)Small enough to not be obnoxiousSeem to be well madeDISLIKE:The price is too high for 14 k white gold PLATED sterling silver and lab created opals**I will be wearing them constantly for weeks; if they color my ear, I will be back to change their rating

These are so beautiful and sparkly in person! Both the CZ and the gemstone shine so lovely. The earring clasp hoop thing is interesting- it's kind of bigger than I'd expect, but it looks nice. It definitely stays put on your ear which is so great. These look and feel very well made. I got the May gemstone, and it's such a nice shade of green (not too light nor dark).

I got the 08_Aug_Peridot earrings. These are beautiful earrings. My photo doesn't do them justice, the shine and gem color don't show well in the photo. I love the color of the gem. The earrings are nicer than I expected, dainty, not at all fake looking or gaudy. I'm thrilled and can hardly wait to wear them. They are absolutely nice enough to gift and they come in a nice jewelry box for presentation.

While these earrings are sparkly and very pretty, they are also very smaller than expected. The stones are a deep purple, and the cubic zirconia add the perfect amount of sparkle. I chose the February birthstone (amethyst) because it's my granddaughter's birthstone, but these earrings will also match my birthstone stud earrings that I bought last year that are also a dark shade of purple. These are very lovely earrings that will make a nice gift but lower your expectations, for this price, you would expect bigger stones but if you are looking for a small, dainty gift, then these will work.

I ordered the YL Silver Dangle Earrings and they are very beautiful. I needed earrings in this emerald shade of green to coordinate with an outfit for a special occasion; and, these will work very well. The earrings have a tear drop shaped emerald in it which is embellished all around with CZ; the remainder of the earring is is 925 sterling silver; and the earrings drop length is just a little over 1". These are very nice earrings and I easily rate them 5 out of 5.

These are really nicely done. The color I got was "alexandrite." Mine are a paler shade of purple than is shown on the product page, but they're still a nice color. The ambient light does have an effect on the perceived color. Against a darker background, they look a bit darker. When they're backlit, they look lighter. As you can see from the setting, the back is open and lets light come through, which is why the color changes. The quality is good and they look really nice, without being gaudy.I would if you like a certain color, consider getting a darker-looking one from the product photos, as mine turned out paler in real life. But they still look great!
