The overall design of the earrings is beautiful.The ruby itself doesn't look bad, but it's more on the pale, pink side of rubies, as opposed to a solid, dark, vivid red.The hook part of the earring looks bad and feels cheap -- I would replace this part of the earring if you're handy.The earring only looks good when viewed from a specific direction, but the earring unfortunately may not hang in the optimal direction in your ear.It seems to hang at like a 30-45 degree away from straight forwards on my wife's ear, so it might not look good when someone is seeing her from straight forwards, but if she looks off-center from the person she's talking to, then it will look better.This is a nit-pick, so I'm still going to leave it at 5 stars.Overall, the earrings are quite attractive.
