My goal in wearing this ring is to remind myself to Let That Sh-- Go, just like it says in the inscription. Note: the word Sh-- is actually on the INSIDE, so the ring can be worn in the presence of small children and church people. I bought this item with the intent that it would be like wearing a rubber band around my wrist when trying to stop myself from smoking, biting my nails, or stopping by Taco Bell.So I put the ring on and pay attention. Mindfulness is important. I ask, is it comfortable? Sort of. It's adjustable, which is good because the edges are kind of sharp. In that way, of course, it works as an excellent reminder, because I'm aware of the metal digging into my flesh, so I glance down and say, Ok, let that sh-- go, and readjust the ring.But I continue watching. Will the ring turn my finger green? Surprisingly, the answer is no. Yay! And I even submerged it in dishwashing water, the true test of greenery in costume jewelry.And just when I think the ring is working, I look down and the word "that" has all but disappeared. The black ink has come off. Now it just looks like "Let sh-- go." Slightly different meaning.I will continue to wear the ring just out of curiosity. Because I assume the other words will follow into obscurity. Soon it will say "Let sh--" or maybe it'll end up just saying "go" or, heaven forbid, "sh--."Either way, I guess it's still better than a rubber band. They don't say anything.
