This is the first time that I've ever worn a watch made from wood (other than the face and clasp). The watch is very lightweight. It's barely noticeable on my wrist. I've gotten many compliments on it.The only downside about it is that it is made from wood. I say this because you have to be very careful when removing links. The watch comes with a link pin remover. I highly recommend taking it to a watch store or purchase a link removal kit yourself. When I attempted to remove a link, I chipped a corner of it which by then I basically peeled away the rest of the link. Luckily, one link is all that I needed to remove so it wasn't a total loss.Other than that the watch has been great. I expect to get many years of wear from it.

It is still running perfectly and is a regular part of my wardrobe on off days when a business watch is not called for (great jeans and a sweatshirt type watch). This one has a different color combination and both a brand and deer insignia, so is a fair variation to my original. Unlike my first order, this comes with a date dial. Comes with battery installed and a standard dial with two setting levels for date and time - very easy to set. Links can be removed with a metal tool that is included in the package. If you don't have a wooden watch yet and would like something unique, this is a great option - gets lots of comments and surprisingly the wooden band doesn't feel at all uncomfortable on your wrist.Cons: I far prefer the color combination on my original watch and am not crazy about the 'gold' backdrop, but of course order to your preference (this one isn't quite as nice as I imagined, but generally conforms with the photos). I had significantly more difficulty removing a link from each size to fit my wrist. It could be done with the tool, but took use of a hammer on both sides to push out the metal rods and one wooden link had a small piece dislodged in the process. Fortunately, this was on the link I was removing so won't impact my use of the product. I did use the instructions regarding which direction the rods were to be removed from, but it was a difficult process. This watch is an absolute beauty. Had seen wooden wrist watches before but I never got one till now. The watch is as pictured. Once I took the watch out from the box I was surprised at how incredibly light it felt. When I placed the watch on my wrist it was a little too loose. So here's where the "but" comes in.. I decided to take it upon myself to remove some links on the band. Before doing this, I watched a few YouTube videos on how to remove links from a watch band. But of course these videos were for metal watch bands. This watch does come with its own repair tool for doing just that, taking links out, but I had never done that before. It was rather difficult to do but I managed to get the first link off that attaches the clasp. Then I managed to take two more links off from the band but I really should have only taken one link out. It takes a good bit of force to get the pins to push down and in doing so I ended up damaging two links. I was mortified! I managed to reattach the clasp link back to the band and once I placed it on my wrist, it was just a little too tight. My recommendation is to take the watch to a watch repair shop if you are uncomfortable with removing the links as the band is made of wood and the links can split and crack open. Fortunately, one of the links I believe is still salvageable and when I get time I will be taking the watch in for a watch band repair.Other than trying to remove links from this wooden band, I love everything about this watch. It's lightweight. It's Japanese quartz movement and I will be looking forward to wearing this once I get the band correctly fitted.I'd recommend this watch. But again, if you have to remove a link then it's probably best to take it in for a watch repair and let the professional do it. I thought I'd save myself a few dollars by trying to do it myself. If this were a metal band, I would then say go for it.

I actually did not have very high expectations for this watch since it only cost thirty bucks but it is actually pretty nice. It is made of real wood and is very attractive. It is super light weight and comfortable to wear. I do need to make the band smaller--I tried for a couple of minutes to remove one of the links but I could not get the pin to come out so I gave up. I will need to try again when I have more time...Aside from that minor inconvenience, I have been happy with the appearance and performance of this product and I definitely recommend it.
