They're quite pretty, but the surprisingly large size and very light weight make it easy for them to slip out when doing something like taking off a coat as they use hooks whereas posts with a small link so they still dangle would make them more secure in your ears and also have a cleaner, less bulky 'paper clip-y' look at the top.If you get them, you may want to find a package of the small things that slip over the backs of earring hooks to keep them from coming out (something I should have done before wearing them for the first time and within hours losing one...) (I don't know what the small things are called; it would be nice if a couple of pairs were included.)They are very nice looking, though. If you're more careful than I and have a longer neck they should be just fine.
