Nice for interval training and heart rate monitoring.

Was hoping for the best since it had all the features I was looking for, but the most important one, the heart rate monitor, is worthless! It works at rest, but as soon as you start to move or sweat (workout), the HRM is completely innacurate by anywhere from 20 to 50 beats per minute. This means the calories burned per workout is also completely wrong. Seems to not matter if I wear the watch in the directed location on my upper wrist or trying higher or lower placement. Horrible purchase!

This is actually a very good HRM (non-gps) sports watch. It does what it says, measure heart rate accurately during your workout. It is very cheap and can be considered as an entry before forking out more for higher end sports models/brands. For first time users, it has a higher than normal learning curve. But once you get it, it will be an easy task. The only down side of this watch is the poorly documented user manual. Luckily for me, I found a blog (search “pulse rhythm user guide blog”) and it contains useful information on the watch. Good luck!Pros-Accurate heart rate monitor via wrist (no chest strap needed!)-As a bonus, it also measures distance & steps (built-in pedometer)-Big screen and clear display-long battery life-Has secondary time for frequent travelersCons-Heart rate takes 10 secs to update-High learning curve due to worthless user manual

I bought this with high hopes, because I was tired of having to put on a chest strap. However, it does not accurately measure heart rate for me - it often doesn't agree with either the exercise bike measurement or with counting pulse by hand, and can be off by as much as 50 (though 10-15 is more usual). Even that could be compensated for if the disagreement was consistently on one side, but sometimes it measures higher and sometimes lower than the other numbers. As other reviewers have mentioned, the user manual is practically impossible to follow, but even after I finally figured out the basic functions, I found no way to correct the measurement, and I've worn the watch as tightly as possible, or more loosely, or with the sensor against different parts of my wrist, and still it doesn't work. Having said all that, I do have a heart condition, so it is possible that it would work much better for a healthy person, and the price is much cheaper than other models out there.

Poor operation manual, some functions do not work (such as Calorie consumption) as per manual.Anyway, I just need the heart rate measurement which is accurate and a clock. .

great for training

This watch is pretty but either one of the two I purchased did NOT work. I returned both watches.

I like this watch. I am taking EMT training and I wanted a watch that was really comfortable because I hate wearing watches. The heart rate monitor is definitely a nice bonus. I class we would match the watch up against actual vitual and it was dead on. The instructions book is not so great. I actually back on the site to re-download better instructions listed by a previous reviewer. They are very helpful. The only problem is that some time it will stop measuring my hr and give these default numbers. When that happens I just do a factor reset which is hold all buttons. I don't like that it says not to swim with it as I would like that option. All and all a great watch.
