The chain appears to be stainless steel, no signs of change after wearing daily and showering with it long term. I intended to purchase a stainless steel medallion, which was not the case. I would have been fine with that if the medal hadn't started to look like a penny. I'll shop more carefully and read the descriptions more thoroughly in the future.

The media could not be loaded.  The item arrived pretty and I was excited at first. Good chain length but chain did not have a clasp so you literally have to put it over your head every time. The medal itself is completely rusted after barely 2 months of wear! So upset and a waste of money!!
