Read all the reviews & decided to take a chance on this watch. I didn’t care for the look of my old activity tracker that finally but the dust. While missed the visible evidence that I was moving more but the bells & whistles I would not have on this watch didn’t matter to me, I took a chance. Right off the bat, I learned what other purchasers had - upon arrival the watch had so low a battery that I couldn’t set it up until I replaced it. So I spent $28 @ a jeweler’s on a new battery & brought it home. I then tried every suggestion listed by other reviewers, no luck. Also got on the timex website to chat for help & get suggestions for addressing this - the customer service people listed such basic suggestions that it mirrored the same exact info the manual came with, basically useless. Seemed like their answers were directly cut and pasted FROM the manual, actual wording was identical. Additionally, the two reps that I chatted with (I got disconnected once) said completely different things, neither of which helped. Beautiful watch as long as you don’t expect it to function as either an accurate timepiece or an activity tracker. Returned with sad resignation.Don’t get your hopes up, folks. While I got my actual purchase price refunded, the $ I spent on the battery is not recoverable. Timex should discontinue selling this watch if they aren’t going to invest in updating the mobile app - anything less simply cements a permanent dislike of Timex products for the public. I know I won’t buy another after this experience.

UPDATE....after wanting for support help from Timex for about 2 weeks. I finally got an email with steps to follow and I got my watch working. I don’t know why they don’t post these anywhere. I’m hoping people can find them in this review.FROM TIMEXThe syncing process is very sensitive. A lot of times if battery on the watch is draining it will greatly affect the performance during syncing.It is recommended that when doing the syncing, make sure no nearby device with Bluetooth feature that will interfere the process.Please follow troubleshooting steps.Please forget or remove first all devices that are previously connected to your phone Bluetooth device.Uninstall the old apps.Turn off the wifi.Turn off the phone. Allow 5-10 seconds then turn it on.Re-install the new Timex Connected app on your phone and reboot your watch and follow the pairing steps on the Timex Connected app to complete the sync process.To reboot the watch, follow the steps below:1) Pull the crown and wait 4 seconds2) Push it back in and wait 2 seconds3) Pull the crown and wait 4 seconds4) Push it back in and wait 2 seconds5) Pull the crown and wait 4 seconds6) Push it back in and wait 2 seconds7) Pull the crown and wait 9 seconds, then push it back in and when prompted on the app, push and hold the crown for about 10 seconds until you can hear the sync melody. Complete the sync process as indicated in the phone.Remember to avoid experiencing “time out”, please do not push ahead the stem of the watch not until your phone will inform you to start pairing or syncing the watch.*Please note that you will lose save data on your watch.OLD REVIEWNice looking watchOnly able to set up to 17% on app before the watch and phone lose connection. I just received my replacement watch- this one will connect to the App, the first one wouldn’t, however the steps portion of the watch doesn’t work. This was one of the main reasons I purchased this watch! So disappointed!!! Don’t bother with customer service with Timex, they do not help whatsoever-

Update: genuinely terrible waste of money. My previous review was mediocre. I've had this for just over 6 months now.Things that have stopped working or never worked:- it always says there is a new update, but it never actually loads it.- You have to sync it manually. About 3/4 of the time it says it can't sync.- if you press help it sends you to a page with instructions equivalent to the little paper inset it came with. no actual help.- Initially: you are in 2001, and even when you reset it to the proper date and then look for your progress on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, it couldn't figure out the week. You could see day, month, year, but it was permanently set to whatever activity you had in the first week of November of 2001, and you can't scroll forward. = no activity. NOW: it gets the month, but not the day, comes up on the hour, but can't synchronize days and on the hours page says "you have to provide data for the chart" (always, even when it syncs)- the seconds hand stopped moving. I got this watch because it had a seconds/sweep hand, the one benefit over a traditional activity tracker I previously noted inmy first review.- it scratches up up extraordinarily easily. I've gained weight since I got it, so clearly I'm insufficiently active, not exactly doing extreme sports.What it doesn't have: altimeter.Is it accurate? I'm not sure. I haven't measured it against another source. It matches up reasonably well with the step counter on my iPhone, considering that the step counter is lower because I don't always carry my phone around the house, etc.
