gratitude

Sunday Buddha posture depicts him standing with arms folded in front of his waist, his right hand covering the left. As per the legend, Buddha attained enlightenment while sitting under a Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India. This posture represents the moment just after his enlightenment when he stood in front of the tree and gazed at it without blinking for an entire week, out of gratitude.

happiness and enlightenment

This act symbolizes his profound connection to the tree, which provided the necessary conditions for his enlightenment.

Buddhists are reminded to cultivate gratitude and appreciation for the things and experiences that bring happiness and enlightenment.

grounded and connected to nature

Yakshas are a kind of supernatural beings who are often depicted as powerful protectors of natural resources, such as forests, rivers, and mountains. They are also known to be guardians of the Dharma, the teachings of the Buddha.

Wearing a Buddha pendant with Yaksha can serve as a reminder to remain grounded and connected to nature while also seeking inner peace and enlightenment.

The Yaksha energy is believed to help the wearer connect with nature and tap into the abundance of the universe, while the Om symbol represents the infinite and all-encompassing nature of the universe.

I chose the Thursday Buddha because it represents meditation. I was surprised to see that it came with a "starter" necklace. Personally, I prefer the corded rope necklace as it feels more authentic to me. Finding a good leather or rope necklace can be difficult. I have tried to find one for my other pendant, the "Om" symbol, but was unable to find anything worthwhile. I even tried making my own, but let's just say I won't be getting a job making custom jewelry anytime soon. The only drawback is that the necklace it comes with doesn't have a clasp, it's just tied in a knot and might be too small or tight for a lot of people. However, it was designed as a starter necklace and not meant to be worn long term. The pendant itself is a little too shiny and new-looking for my taste, but I do appreciate that the image is on both sides of the pendant which is amazing. I have seen more expensive pendants that are only one-sided and it can be frustrating when it flips or moves throughout the day. Both the necklace and the pendant have held up well when worn all day while sweating on hot summer days, or during a morning/evening shower.

I recently took a trip to Thailand and visited a plethora of shrines and temples. The figure of Buddha that most spoke to me was the standing Buddha with hands raised...it was explained to me that this is the Buddha for peace/ending conflicts. I have a very strange family situation with a lot of conflict that I try to mitigate. I immediately became enamored with this particular representation of Buddha and have been looking all over for items with this figure. Very happy with this pendant and SO happy to find him here. Good quality pendant and cord. LOTS of detail.
