I don't actually travel much with my watches, but the case it originally came in was falling apart so needed a new one to store it securely. This does that for sure, and would have no concern about putting this in a backpack or carry-on bag for travel. Comes apart intuitively to store or remove the watch, but snaps together securely to keep it safe.Note - this one has to be put in the case with the latch left open, but I do have small wrists. Folks with larger wrists probably wouldn't have that wrinkle. Not sure it really matters either way.
