I just used this tool for the first time today to remove the back from a Citizen Eco Drive watch. Once I was able to secure the watch securely, which was the most difficult part, the wrench itself worked perfectly. It was easy to adjust so that it fit my particular watch back correctly. The tool comes with 4 sets of "points". The points are shaped differently to fit into the different types of watch backs. I found the "points" that worked for my watch and popped them in the tool. The only criticism I can come up with for this wrench is that removing those points from the tool is just a bit tricky. They do sit security and don't want to come out very easily. That's probably a good thing. That's the only reason I gave it four stars for ease-of-use. Here is a helpful hint. I would consider getting a watch case holder. I saw those online when I was looking for this wrench. As I mentioned earlier, the hardest part in this situation was holding on to the watch while trying to remove the back. The back was definitely secure. I had to do some special clamping in order to get it to come loose. I was not able to hold it with my hand. I hope that helps you.

Pretty nice tool. Not pro quality but plenty good enough for home use. I used it to take the back off of three different dead watches I had: A Casio, Bulova and a Swiss Army. All had screw back cases. It worked on all three without an issue. I would have given it five stars if it had some basic instructions with it. I was on the third watch before I realized the tool has spring loaded clips to hold the tool bits in place. If you buy this tool, push and spin the bits in pretty hard and the clips will help the bits stay in place when you flip the tool over. Also, you can go to Youtube to see videos on how to change batteries on most watches. Finally, this tool was shipped to me quicker than I expected. Another plus.I am happy with this purchase.

This tool worked to open my Brietling. I wouldn't say it was easy but it did work. There's no included instructions but this is what I found works:Be sure the bits are inserted all the way until they click. You'll also need some way to hold the case very firmly. Tough to do with your hand and when (not if) you slip you can get scratched by the bits. I pressed the watch down hard on the rubber arm of an office chair and let the friction hold it.It's easiest to set the two bits so they hit the lands on the case back about 1/3 of the way around and then tighten the third bit so it hits a land too. While keeping a lot of pressure holding the tool in place you can unscrew the back. In my case it was a normal lefty-loosey thread. This might not be for the faint of heart or on a priceless heirloom but I found it worked fine!

Worked for what I needed it for, but fortunately I'm pretty comfortable tinkering a bit to figure things out. There are no directions of any sort. If you're just starting out tinkering with watches and looking for a product with a step-by-step guide, this isn't it.The box that the tool came in was unglued on one of the sides and the tool itself had a couple of nicks on it - it almost appeared slightly used. The bits themselves were sealed in a small bag, but it was sealed so there was no way it could be re-used for storage. As others have said, all of the pieces have a thin layer of oil on them. That doesn't really cause a problem, it's just a bit of a pain.Having said all of that, if you just need the tool and you either know what you're doing with it or you're comfortable just figuring it out, the price is right and the tool works. One warning - make sure the watch(es) you want to use it with has notches on the back for the teeth to fit into. If the back is square or smooth, you need a different tool.

Got it fast. I used it on an older, well used casio watch one of those water proof big jobs. Case was hard to get off as it is supposed to be waterproof and has not been opened for 5 years (lot of summer wear while gardening and building). Opener comes in a plain box. Yes, it takes a second to rub off the oil coating, not a big deal. Oil means no rust - a good thing. I ditched the box and use a 1 quart freezer bag (freezer bags are thicker) and I put this wrench and its inserts into that freezer bag. This is how I store odd tools in my specialty box. The device is very heavy duty. There is a thumb wheel to set two of the grabbers, and the handle/stem sets the other. I'm pretty strong. I used about 50 pounds of torque to get the casio case to open. I had to go at it five times as the torque required to actually move the casio backer required a special hold. I do not have a block/vise to hold the watch. I just used it on a normal Seiko and it came right open. So, the watch itself will determine how much force you have to use and the strength of the hand grip to hold that watch as you torque this wrench. The wrench is made for a lot of potential force. Simple and strong.

First, there are no instructions on how to use this. I searched the web for instructions on Paylak tools and found nothing. The second thing about it and the main reason I'm returning it is that it contains no bits for waterproof watches. All of the bits were way too big to fit under the cover groove. The groove of course has to be small so that no water can get in.Grooves big enough for these drill bits would easily let water in. Therefore this is clearly not for waterproof watches.I'm guessing that the people who used this successfully did not use them on waterproof watches.I believe this is for a screw on case back, not a snap on. For people with snap on back, this will not work. Paylak needs to put this in the item description.I was really wanting this to work because now I am going to have to send my Timex watch to Timex and pay them 10 dollars to change the battery. If anyone reading this review can recommend a good watch changing kit for Timex indiglo waterproof watch, please let me know.
