This item described as a "Watch Case Opener, Professional Spring Bar Watch Hand Lifter Puller Plunger Remover" etc, is in reality a watch hand installation tool. It is the item currently shown in the picture. It is all metal and sturdy. it comes with ten caps that fit on the bottom of the plunger. There may only be four or five different sized ones. The top of the device has eight holes that are too small in diameter to hold any of the white pieces. Functionally it works just fine. The white pieces stay in place on the plunger and are really held well in place. You select the white piece that best suits the diameter of the shaft coming up from the watch movement, put it on the plunger, position the watch hand and carefully press down and the hand will be pressed onto the watch movement. This is the first time I've replaced a watch movement and this tool made this job doable on the first try. So I'd say it's well worth the cost.

The red frame is nice and sturdy, the plated steel plunger is also sturdy... The problem is the absolute piece of junk aluminum bushing that the plated steel plunger rides up and down in the red frame. There has got to be at least 0.020-0.030" play in the ID of the bushing which allows the plunger to tilt at least three or four degrees from true vertical as you're pressing down on it to press the watch hands. I'm going to keep it because I have a lathe here that I can make a tighter tolerance bushing... But if I didn't have a lay this thing would go back to Amazon in a heartbeat. I can only hope that China's military machines things in the same manner they produce their export because I don't think we have a lot to worry about when they put out junk like this.

there is so much play in the plunger that it makes it pretty much useless. pen style hand press works much better.
