I believe that the bar is surgical steel, but the actual gems on the top part started tarnishing after a few weeks :/ They look super cute for short-term use!

These turned my ears green and ate away at my skin causing sores. If you have sensitive skin- do not buy!!!!

They are all so cute! No coating and they are hypoallergenic. The only concern is they seem small for being a 16g... but it fit. The jeweled ones did cause irritation from the sharp edges, but I'm sure that would depend on your rook/ear anatomy. Overall I like them!
