This jewelry box is nicely finished solid cherry wood, finished well top, bottom, and sides, which is why I gave it 5 stars. It has just enough of a magnet catch to keep it from opening accidentally but without making it hard to open. The wood is smoothly finished in just the right way for cherry wood, not overly coated with something plastic-y as some finish can be. The color will deepen as it ages, as cherry does.The hinge is smooth and is strong enough to keep it open without holding it and without dropping on your fingers, but without making it hard to close. The velvety cloth inside is well done. Overall, the box feels high quality.It's packed in a minimalist way and yet so thoughtfully, with a nice ribbon, you could give it as a gift without even rewrapping it, although it's enclosed in a nice outer box that could be wrapped, too. The thoughtful packaging says "this is a nice thing" as a you pull it out of the box and unwrap it.I have 2 quibbles. One, I actually think this box makes a better gift for men than women--although it could go to either--it's just, the little area on the left where you think you could put cufflinks and pins for men doesn't actually hold them that well. They pretty much sit on top not really with the non-decorative ends down into the fabric spaces. There is ample room on the right, it's just nice to have those things displayed and not subject to tumbling into a clump if the box is picked up and tilted.And, I'm just not a fan of the crabapple glass design, although I can see why they chose it over either clear or frosted glass. Personally, I'm wishing it had a finished, possibly slightly figured piece of cherry wood instead. But that's a design choice, not a quality one.Bottom line, it's a surprisingly good quality piece of solid wood work. If someone is looking for a small jewelry box, this makes a nice gift, and is packaged in a way that makes it easy to give as a gift.

This is an absolutely beautiful jewelry box.It’s fantastic quality for the price. The wood is a beautiful natural color that is sanded well with no nicks or chips. The glass is a very attractive vintage style detail that leaves the window slightly opaque in appearance. The inside is a soft green “velvet” feeling material. It has ample room for both costume and fine jewelry.If you’re giving this as a gift, it comes already wrapped (beautifully) in a green ribbon to match the inner lining of the box.I got this one for myself, but may purchase another as a gift for my friend who also fell in love with the glass detail on the front.It’s a beautiful little jewelry box!

This is a nice wood jewelry box. It has a very classic feel about it. I like that it is real wood a glass. I wouldn't use it for traveling a the prompted rating suggests as it has a glass top but it does feel sturdy and like a good value for something simple and classic.Its good for a young person with a small jewelry collection- I gave as a gift for my 9 year old who loves jewelry. Good value, nice product. Would Recommend.

My mom wanted a jewelry box for Christmas, and I knew she would prefer the wooden kind to any other kind. It took a long time before I found one that I knew she would like, but this was definitely it. It's not too small, not like a travel case, but it's not huge like some of those four or five tier ones. Perfect for women who have some jewelry, but not a ton of it. The wood construction is simple and elegant, nothing super fancy but it doesn't look cheap either. The inside is lined with a pretty lime green velvet material, it reminds me of the jewelry box my mom used to have when I was a kid, which she got in the 70s. It also comes with a ribbon around it, so it's perfect for gift giving.

I rate this jewelry box somewhere between three and a half and four stars. It's definitely higher than a three because it is better than just decent but I have to give it lower than a four for one reason. First of all I want to say that if this had not been an issue I would have given this jewelry box a four and a half stars for the price but this issue would have brought it down to a three on its own except for the fact that this box is actually really pretty and feels very functional and sturdy and that kept it from going down to three. The issue that I had was that the separation pieces inside, there is little fabric covered pieces that separate the box into a ring holder on one side and four smaller squares on the other, the part that makes it for smaller squares came out no problem but the part that is the ring holder was glued down so you cannot take it out or move it to another section of the box. That to me was disappointing I would have really liked it if the ring portion was removable just like the sectioning pieces were. The fact that it was glued down and you would have to pry it up and probably leave a lot of glue marks behind is what dropped my rating from a four and a half to a three but the top of this box being so pretty and the green on the inside being such a beautiful shade brought it back up between three and a half and four. So it is definitely worth the price and if you are not looking to move around the section pieces or remove them all together then I would say this box is more of a four and a half.1 Star - Awful!
