This item is advertised as a 3.5 mm crown size however only when it’s open to X max can it can’t even try to accommodate something over 3 mm which means it’s actually made for a 2.5 mm crown which is ridiculous

I purchased this item to help in finding and setting my watch. It is an older telephone face watch and you need to be careful with the crown. My fingernails are soft and break easily so I have trouble doing it myself which is why I bought the crown winder. When you try to push down on the top to open the part that goes over the crown it usually doesn't move. You need to push it on to a table or other hard surface and hopefully slide your thumb in quickly before it closes to be able to use it. I had hoped it would get easier after daily use but it is still difficult. I wouldn't buy one again.
