I love whales so this retractable watch is perfect for me. The blue whale reminds me of Kokujira, a baby whale from Jinbesan (Sanrio). I can wear this without judgment and feel a little more confident as a nursing student on the floor. It's useful when you need to do timed assessments (respirations and apical). My smartwatch screen fades when the battery is low and that has been somewhat awkward when pushing meds... Analog won't fail you.If you or a loved one likes whales and is a medical student... The media could not be loaded.  I'm a cute little happy whale! Moby Dick he is not. Baby Beluga, maybe... This is a simple little item. The clip on works well, the pull out is not particularly long but more than enough to check the time (try not to let it zoom back in. It zips back quickly) and most importantly the watch face is not obtrusively large, but more than large enough to be easy to read. The hands do glow in the dark, as does the tip of the second hand, which is quite nice. The face numerals don't glow, but they are rarely necessary anyway. It came with a battery and the time set easily. The watch fits snugly enough into its little silicone fob, but it is not seated overly tightly. I wouldn't take it in and out of the cover regularly if it can be avoided. The cover might get too loose and the watch might fall out. And in case you are curious, the whale is not particularly removable, and the plastic part that holds the fob onto the zip line is thick and very secure. And the triangle that holds the watch fob in place is a single piece. So it is sturdy and well designed! But definitely designed to be used as is.
