I have worn this necklace for about a year, and has had minimal scratching. Titanium is not an expensive metal, but is hard to work with so manufacturing is key with the material, but manufacturing and color qualities are excellent on this, and is very light weight. If I had it to do over again, I may have purchased their 40" chain and made two 20" necklaces (all you need are jewelry pliers and an extra lobster clasp) and given one away. Only minimal issue, I purchased the 20" and have to say it's about two links short, making it about 19.5" and thus slightly tight.
