This is a really nice watch. Very attractive rose-gold watch coupled with a brown strap. It is a nice combination of looks and sturdiness, no complaints about this watch at all. Oh yes, keeps time well too!

I am a watch collector and I specialize in mid-priced watches, from $50-$250. This Technomarine "Cruise Star" is just over the top end of that range and with the rose-gold finish, was very attractive so I decided to pick this up. I usually wait a month before reviewing a watch so as the give a long-term view on it's accuracy, but couldn't this time.Firstly, I assume Technomarine is marketing this watch as an upscale sport watch rather than a dress watch. Chrono, silicone band, 200 meter water resistance (screw-in crown)...all hallmarks of a sport/diver watch. On the other hand, there are clearly luxury, dress features here such as a sapphire crystal and highly-polished rose gold finish.There's the rub, it's neither one and incomplete as either. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn't have a second hand! It has a chrono second hand, 1/10 second timer, 30 minute timer, 12 hour timer...but no regular second hand. How strange! Clearly, a dress watch feature...but on a sport watch. So, I can't tell you how accurate it is - most quartz watches in my experience are 1-20 seconds fast or slow per month, but with no second hand to set it with and compare in a month, no way to track accuracy! The Amazon product page doesn't state the origin of the quartz movement, but the case back states that it is a Japanese movement.The watch has a very highly-polished finish. There's a plastic covering over the case - that's right, there's a transparent, plastic covering over the case sides and top with slots for the crown and chrono controls to stick up through. Is this to protect the finish from scratches or dents? From sharks biting it? Who knows? It looks cheap and silly. Why would anyone give a watch a highly-polished gold finish and then cover it up? It can be removed (you have to remove the band first) but then, the band is just a little too big for the case.The silicone band is decent with quick-change pins. The unidirectional bezel moves precisely without any binding. A sapphire crystal. The dial is attractive and well-ordered. Seems sturdy and heavy with 14k rose gold plating. But...no second hand, a plastic cover?This watch strikes out as a dress/luxury watch or as a sport/diver watch. Poorly thought out and executed design. For this kind of money, I expect more. Three stars.
