Works well for big watches, I was able to change batteries easy

I needed a watch case wrench for the bigger diameter watches and so far this one does the job.

Tool works perfectly for oversized watches. I have Diesel brand watches and I searched for over 6 months for a too big enough to replace the battery.

This is a must have tool for anyone who wants to open their watch. I use it to change my batteries and have already saved over $100 by doing it myself. I have some watches with rather large cases and this does the job extremely well. The key is to pick the right inserts to match the case back and to work with a firm and steady hand. Yes, it takes a couple of tries and I did scratch up my watch's case back the first time I used it, but now I know exactly how to use the tool and never have any issues.

This watch opener was for some of my 50+ mm quartz watches to replace batteries. Jewelers charge 50-100$. Some places charge less but your watch is susceptible to scratches or marring. If that is going to happen, I'll do it myself thank you. Always be patient and be sure you use the proper pins and have adjustments for them tight and use steady pressure to minimize slipping and scratching. I thought this opener had a good quality of materials and tight tolerances for the money. I highly recommend this for competent do it yourself hobbyist.

Will not fit larger watches. Substandard quality & materials.

First one sent : Box tool came in was crushed on one end with the box coming apart. The black box the actual tool was in was filthy with marks inside it...pin tool was just tossed inside box...not even set into the molded area made for it. Tool had actual scratches on it, obviously from usage. So Amazon sends me a used item in a damaged interior box and a damaged red box that was packed in and expected me to accept this? Wrong. Thirty dollars for a used piece of junk, I would not recommend a broken, used this item to anyone. Returned for replacement.Second one sent: Returned and sent another one, box was damaged slightly with some crushed edges, the molding inside was loose, and a few of the pin sets are machined very poorly making a couple hard to get into the actual tool. Once in place using a pair of pliers the tool performed its purpose fine. The one redeeming quality was the pin tool, which seemed to be quite nicely made out of strong steel. I figure a good pin tool is worth about half the price of the kit since a pin tool of any strength and quality is hard to find on Amazon. I upgraded my rating due to the fact it actually did do the job and the quality of the pin tool...it just did not deserve a one rating. So bottom line is if you get a piece of junk like the first one I received use the Amazon return policy, the second one while not perfect performed fine for the task at hand and lets face it folks...for thirty dollars it will pay for itself within a couple of uses. Based on this IF you get a tool that is not damaged it will perform adequately.

I didn't know what I needed, so of course I ordered the big one! I didn't need it. This thing is huge! Unless you wear a clock on your wrist, get the smaller size. That being said, this should take the back off nearly any watch I can imagine. That's not a bad thing, but a smaller size might be a bit easier to handle when changing batteries in most watches. This comes with several pin sizes, which should accommodate most anything you're working on. The pins are hard, and very square edged. Should you slip, you will scratch the back of your watch. I speak from experience. Oops! I have used this several times now, and it adjusts to every watch I've tried it on. The quality isn't German engineering, but this isn't for use on a Formula One care either. Good price, good value.
