These earrings are made of 925 sterling silver and moissanite with a large stone in the center and several small stones around it. You can take off the outside part, called its jacket, and wear the stud earrings by themselves, or you can wear them as they are with the jacket around the center stone. So far I've worn mine both ways and can't decide which way I like better, but the best part is I don't have to choose.I like the size of these earrings, which measure 13mmx13mm, not too large for people with small ears and not too small for times when you want to wear something a little more noticeable than what you normally wear. There are 146 stones in these earrings, and the center stone, which can be worn alone, is very pretty. To my eyes, at least, the outer stones in the jacket aren't as bright, shiny, or as pretty as the center stone.Minimum total gem weight for these pretty earrings is 2.32 carats. These are very well made, comfortable, and sparkly. You could easily wear the center stones alone to work and add the jacket for going out at night.I like these earrings, think the moissanite stones look great, and the idea of the removable jacket is a great one. You really get two pair of earrings in one with this set, and I would highly recommend these to anyone who likes pretty things that sparkle. Who doesn't?

Larger jackets than I anticipated. Shine is good. I'm not sure about price. I paid $85. I've not worn them yet. I love that I can put other 6mm jemstone studs in the removable jacket. I bought 3 different round gemstone studs but all 3 have different prong settings and lay slightly crooked. I love gemstone king. I've not been disappointed by anything I've purchased for myself or gifted. (Which has been a lot) This box had some damage which I would have liked to see the velvet not scratched if I was gifting. I would like to know what style setting they recommend or sell in gemstones that can be puchased to fit as the onyx stud sits inside of jacket?

Part of that is a happy accident because I didn't notice that this set came apart until I had it in my hands. That's obviously on me because I don't know how they could have said it any more clearly. I tend to pay more attention to the photos and materials, and there's not a photo of an empty jacket.I review a lot of moissanite, and one of the reasons for that is that it's easily testable. Usually. These stones are so small I can't get a good thermoconductivity reading. I will say that I've reviewed another piece from this company and those stones all passed, but these are just too small for me to test without hitting metal. They look like moissanite to my eye, though I hate to rely on that instead of instruments. (Not that I can't generally tell, just that I prefer to be able to provide hard data.)The onyx stones are faceted and look lovely. The construction overall is quite well done, and the posts and backs are marked 925. If the jackets are marked, I can't find the stamp - which does happen. None of the pieces react magnetically, meaning I have no reason to doubt that they're sterling.The price seems a tick high here but only at first glance. I'm the first to tell you when I think something is on the high side, but for the sheer amount of work setting those tiny stones and doing a decent job of it - well, I see that reflected in the price ($90 at time of review). It may still be on the high side of average, but I don't think it's necessarily outside a reasonable range, all things considered.
