The chain for this necklace is stamped 925 (for the purity of the silver), but there is no stamping on the locket itself, so I am suspicious whether it is plated sterling. I also feel that the locket feels sort of plastic-y, as if it has a coating on it or something.That said, I wasn't expecting heirloom jewelry here, and just like the little doo-dad of the heart. I think it is overpriced for what it is, but it's basically the little trinket I was looking for, so I'm happy enough with it.I prefer a classic rose gold color and this is rather coppery... but I think that's represented in the product photos, and in this regard, I got what I expected.
