This was a gift for one of my girls so I wanted something super cute, dainty and delicate, that she could enjoy wearing. This one checked all the boxes. The stone is gorgeous in person and the necklace is just the right size for her. Very dainty and delicate looking. She’s been thrilled to have it to wear and does so almost every day. That’s a big win in my book. So if you like the pictures and you’re looking for something cute and dainty, this may very well be a good choice for you. 1/30/2024 Update:I was impressed that this seller reached out to me to make things right. Customer service is not often a high priority, but this seller went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with my order. I now have a new necklace that is just as I hoped it would be. This is a dainty and beautiful necklace. The opal has a nice color to it and it goes with almost anything. The chain is very nice. It has a good shine and seems sturdy and good quality. This is a great necklace that would add a nice touch to anything you wear. It is simple, but elegant and I’m very happy with it!This necklace looked so dainty and pretty to me from the listing. I was so excited for this necklace to arrive, but when I opened it was really disappointed. This is not an opal and looks nothing like an opal. What I got was a clear and transparent charm that looks more like a piece of glass. It has no color at all and just looks like a cheap imitation of a gem. I have looked at pictures from other reviews that look much nicer than the one I got, so maybe I mine was a fluke or maybe I was sent the wrong item, but what I received was certainly not an opal or even a fake opal. I did round up because the chain is nice and seems to be decent quality. Will have to find a more flattering charm to pair with it.

UPDATE: The seller tried to make this right by sending me a different necklace - an amethyst. They also included another "opal" necklace. Although I stand by my opinion that the opals look more like moonstones, I do admit that the amethyst is lovely (although it is a smooth cut, as opposed to faceted, so it doesn't sparkle) and a nice color. I appreciate the customer service, they really are quite nice about that. Not many places seem to care about the customer anymore, but these guys do, so for that I give them the 4 stars.The chain is simple and the setting is simple, too, but at least those are actually silver and since I like a simple design those aspects appealed to me. I was in need of a decent opal (or even a fake opal-like stone) to go with a pair of opal earrings that I have. This looked like a good choice. The problem is that the fake stone is more like a moonstone than an opal. There is no "fire" within, which is the thing that sets opals apart, just a foggy "stone" in the middle that changes color slightly depending upon whatever is behind it. I am not happy about this necklace because it doesn't look like an opal and is therefore unable to look decent with my earrings. I cannot in good conscience recommend this necklace at all.
