When I discovered my 21-year-old daughter wanted a cameo, I struggled finding one that wasn't all glitzed up with a bunch of embellishments on the perimeter. I was also surprised to find that a lot of "cameo" pendants were really just a picture of a silhouette under smooth glass, which is hard to discern when purchasing online.This necklace was everything I wanted. The blue background made the cameo a bit softer than the black ones. The lady's portrait is pretty and the sculpting/carving is just right. It has just enough of detail at the top of the pendant to make it stand out without being gaudy.The only thing that was surprising is that the portrait is facing the opposite direction from the one pictured. (Mine faces right.) That's not a problem, of course, but I was surprised by it.
