What a pair of cute kitties! The bowties are adorable, but it's the little wire glasses that each cat wears which really tickles me. These handsome little devils are comfortable to wear and don't bother my ears. I can only wear stainless steel or sterling silver posts - no brass, no lead, no nickel, no pewter - or else my ears swell up horribly. I've had not a bit of trouble in the few times I've worn these so far. They're perfect for when you don't want a larger or flashy set of earrings, but they aren't boring or generic like a plain gold or silver ball on a post. Speaking of posts, this pair has posts that are nicely soldered. I've come across some earrings lately where the post has been sloppily attached to the earring back. Some even had sharp bits of solder that would dig into skin, or there was so much solder that there was barely enough room to fit the clasp on the post. There's no metal points, burrs, or other imperfections to adversely affect how comfortable it is to wear these earrings.The pair I have are gold plated. I wasn't able to locate any information on what type of gold was used or the plating method. Since plating tends to wear off over time, and wears faster the more you wear the jewelry, I can't begin to guess how long the plating will stay intact on these earrings. If you tend to bump your phone against your earrings frequently or tend to play with your earrings while thinking/daydreaming/reading, you might want to choose the silver option rather than the plated option. Avoiding contact with hairspray and lotion (or any other health and beauty product) will help keep the gold plating shiny. If something does get on these earrings, be it dirt or sweat or accidental hairspray overspray, a quick wipe down with a jewelry polishing cloth (the kind impregnated with jewelry cleaner), should remove anything that can negatively affect the gold plating. A little maintenance after each wear should keep these kitties in high style for many a time gracing your ears.

Small to medium-sized kitty head stud earrings that are made of sterling silver and gold plated (kt not listed) with CZ crystals and green eyes give this kitty an adorable touch. There are clear crystals on the bowtie which is a chara-cat-ure couture dapper look. I would have loved to see a top hat on these but the bowtie sold me. Up close it looks like the cat is wearing round glasses, the details are fine quality. The only thing missing is some whiskers which can be hard to etch in or maybe it was too much and took away from the whole piece. Small-scale things make sacrifices to make the most of the usable space.These are small to medium-sized studs, they may or may not allow for second-hole piercings to be used depending on how far apart they are, if you have more than two per ear there will be room to add your usual layering studs. At best you might fit a mini stud next to these or a mini hoop. These will work well for most sensitive ears except those allergic to sterling silver.Remove before swimming, bathing, working out, or applying perfume, body spray, cologne, hair spray, insect repellent, lotion, sunblock, and other similar chemicals to avoid ruining the gems and prematurely removing the gold plating. Wipe down with a soft damp or dry cloth after each use. You can hand wash these with mild soap, water, and a soft toothbrush, scrub, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth, and store them in a jewelry box or bag until the next use.
