I am ALWAYS shopping. No joke. But THIS time, I really was on a mission to find the perfect chain. As in, beauty & quality were non negotiable. They usually aren't but this time especially, I really was not leaving room for "eh, so & so". I needed something that was going to be used for the purpose of holding a Memorial keepsake urn. In other words, it had to be beautiful and well-made as it was going to be literally holding my father-in-laws ashes. I wanted something that would be worthy of holding the man that meant so much to my family. There is absolutely NO way that we would even consider degrading him with a cheaply made anything. I wanted something classy, that could be dressed up or down, I wanted something that would hold up to daily wear and of course, the girl in me needed to have something that would appeal to my sense of beauty. This hit ALL the marks and then some.I had never worn this particular style of chain before however I wear a couple of pieces religiously. In order to do that, I need to find chains that have cuts & textures that can layer well together without tangling. I'm also big on not wearing anything that pinches or catches my hair. It's a nightmare to constantly be untangling or pulling out knotted strands. Plus, my hair is curly so it naturally wants to wrap itself around any piece that will let it. A chain that already catches hair is a massive snarl waiting to happen. I've not had any such problem.I love the fact that the link style makes the chain incredibly adjustable. Meaning, going larger in size is great (it gave me the opportunity to experiment some) because you can shorten it as needed even double wrapping it if it were long enough. It's incredibly versatile.What's really special is, my Father-in-law was a master mechanic in life. The pieces that we chose are literally little wrenches. When my husband saw these paired together he loved how they complimented each other. He thought it looked like a jewelry version of an actual chain that you would have seen in his workshop. Honestly, that's what I thought when I saw it and so that's exactly the look that I was going for. And yet, I purchased in 2.5mm I believe and so it maintains that level of feminity that I desire and look for. Plus, since I wanted to be able to always have him with me (which we all selected our own pieces), I included an engraved heart with rhinestones. This necklace definitely holds up to two charms without being overburdened. Additionally, should an event arise where I need to dress it up a little and maybe remove the wrench for the time being, this piece maintains it's beauty and purpose with just the sparkly heart. I absolutely love it and after contemplating several, I am so thankful that this was my choice.
