Mine is an older version of the Orient Star Open Heart watch with Power Reserve Indicator (40 hours). This Amazon product is the updated version with 50-hour power reserve. But I believe that they are very similar in caliber design. Mine was purchased for $500 eight years ago, and now I truly understand why Orient is often said to be the best value in mechanical watches.First of all, the material and the polish is better than most budget watches. There is no scratch on the sapphire glass even though I am quite careless. The movement is super robust. Without any service or regulation, it ran 12 seconds faster per day in the first year and now just 4 seconds per day faster after eight years. That is what I call quality and Japanese craftsmanship (watch made in Japan, in-house caliber). Apparently the Orient craftsmen do care how their watches will perform in the long run. This is a true keeper, not a throw-away fashion watch (a waste of the earth's limited resources). After 8 years of use, the power reserve is still 45 hours.I love the Power Reserve Indicator and the open heart window because they show me the mechanical "soul" of the watch. That is the joy of wearing a mechanical watch in this iPhone age. Although this is an automatic watch, the Power Reserve Indicator is still very useful when I rotate different watches. The craftsmanship and the reliability of this watch have earned my respect. Truly a best buy. I wish I could give it six stars.
