Always wore small studs. These are the first heavy hoop type earrings I've owned, and I think they're great! They are about dime sized, and about as thick as soldering wire (all I can think of!), so they are probably best for ear lobe or inner nose piercings. Might look too heavy elsewhere, but I'm far from an expert. The beads on the ends are both removable, so you don't have to remember which does and does not unscrew, which I thought would be the case. These look awesome!! I get great compliments, and although I could wear them at work, I choose not to, so I had to get used to removing and replacing them which took some practice so that I wouldn't lose the ends which are about push pin size. Also my piercings weren't used to the thicker size and it took some patience getting them through, but don't give up if you have a similar experience. Get these!

These earrings were fine but a little big. Because of the way the screw for the ball is, I couldn't put them get them through. Otherwise they were as stated.

They seem like they are good quality but they are way to fat to fit in my ears. I forced them in (I know, stupid!) and my ears got infected.
