I guess I have pretty slim earlobes - when talking about the width from the front of my lobe to the back of my lobe (not talking about the top to the bottom of my earlobe). I can wear 6mm long earrings in that bottom piercing. The metal on these crawlers is pre-bent where the wire goes up the side of your earlobe. After I inserted the backing, I squished the sharp (needle sharp) end of the earring against my earlobe as tightly as I could. The ornament stayed where it should be until I walked out of the room and moved just a slight bit. Within one minute, the top area fell so that it looked like a dangling earring (see photo). That photo also gives you an idea of how much too wide the backing is because you can see part of the backing drooping downward out of the front of my ear.As you can see by the other 2 photos, these look Fantastic on! And in person they are beautifully sparkly! These are great CZ’s!So, if your lobes are similar to mine, or not, you can get an idea if these will work for you.For people that have more width on their ears, these would be absolutely lovely for a night where you don’t move around too much.I am saying that another thing needs to be mentioned. The very sharp end that you put through your piercing is as sharp as the tip of a sewing needle. If you push too hard to make sure that the earring is firmly attached at the top so that it will stay up, the sharp end will pierce through your ear. So, even for people that have better sized lobes for these earrings, if you move around they can puncture your ear, or they can even puncture your ear when you are trying to adjust them to stay on.So, some people might be able to wear these for work but definitely not for dancing because in order to make the top part of the earring stay up, it will probably poke your skin. That said, for everyone, because of the sharp tip, these are not the kind of earrings that you can sleep in safely.So, in closing, these earrings are beautiful but need alterations especially by smoothing the end of the wire that goes through your ear. If just that was done, then some people with the right sized width of ears could wear these beautiful earrings perhaps to work.As far as the width of the wire that goes through the ear, it might work if they sold these earrings with different widths for people with different widths on their ear lobes, or even showed the customer how to bend the wire according to what would work best for their ears. I would like to make that alteration but I would need to smooth the tip of the wire first somehow.
