Great pendant but the chain is as cheap and thin as you would expect

I bought this for my GF and she loved it. Looks exactly like in the pics, and the packaging is real nice, she thought it was just a candy bag and didnt think much of it till she opened it. I noticed that there was a small flaw in the heart at the top where the heart dents in but my girlfriend never did so i guess its not bad. I never bothered trying to replace it.

When I ordered this necklace I had very high expectations but unfortunately i got little dissapointed. The heart is very small and not so round and plump as it semse like in this picture, the blue Topaz was also much lighter and the chain is very thin. Overall is a sweet piece of necklace, but I wouldnt recommend it for this price!

I'm no jeweler, so I can only base my review off of naked-eye inspection and the "oh my!" that I got when I fastened it to its rightful owner. The clarity is great, there is a very subtle fire to it, and the heart cut is beautifully done; quaint enough that it's not an overwhelming or tacky shape, but accurate enough that it's not simply a reverse teardrop. The setting is sound and has not loosened. That said, prepare to buy your own chain or give this to someone who is VERY careful about a chain not tangling. It is a thread-like, 14k choker that tangled within the first week and got a knot in it that has been there ever since. Writing this review reminded me that I wanted to try taking a needle to it. I only purchase lab created gems as there is simply no benefit to paying to have one mined from the Earth. The costs of mining, however, are far-reaching and devastating.[update] since my purchase, the description has changed to this gem being "simulated". That means that you are not getting a mineral that is molecularly identical to an emerald. This may not matter to many people. I just wanted to make sure that people were aware that my review is for what was being described as a "lab-created" gem.

Amazon presents items well. I knew what I wanted and found it quickly. The third party jeweler involved packaged as requested and shipped in a very timely manner.The piece included a chain, a detail I don't believe was contained in its description. A piece purchased previously did not include a chain and its description lacked that same detail.But she likes it and that's the most important thing.
