I am not a jewelry expert so I don't really know what to look for as hallmarks of quality. That being said, I do like the way this necklace looks. It has a nice modern contemporary feel to it. It does indeed appear to be stainless steel, although I am not positive on the exact grade of stainless. I do not know how to tell if the pearl is real or cultured or some other type of imitation, but it looks good enough to my untrained eye. The necklace has a round style chain as opposed to the more traditional chain style. I imagine this might be more prone to trapping dirt and skin oils, but I have an ultrasonic bath so I don't anticipate any issues for cleaning it. It's not entirely apparent in the photos or description, but one half of the band encapsulating the pearl is a brushed finish, and the other half is a polished finish. I like the contrasting finishes -- I think it looks subtle but elegant. Time will tell how well this holds up, but I have used a Skagen watch in the past and the durability was perfectly fine.

I bought this for myself after a dramatic weightloss because I was finally small enough to wear a standard size necklace. I was sad when it arrived and the clasp did let close all the way. It always has a gap in it, however it has not affected me wearing the necklace. I have not taken it off for two months and the clasp has not affected me wearing it. It has never talked off (as of yet)

I was hoping for something smaller - more dainty and elegant. I have a few Skagen jewelry items, many of which I'd give 5 stars, but the pendant is just too large and clunky looking for my taste.

The style of this necklace really caught my eye, and I'm not at all disappointed now seeing it in person. True, it's stainless steel and imitation pearl (per the tag) but I feel the style is elegant enough for all but the finest occasions, without being too dainty or precious for frequent wear. The chain drapes well and there's a bit of extender at the back that allows for an inch or two adjustment of length. I like the subtle detail that the metal is brushed on to one side of the pearl and high gloss to the other. While not precious metal/gems, I think it has the look and feel of a high quality piece of everyday jewelry.

My wife absolutely loves this necklace! The tight pattern of the necklace looks amazing and the pendant looks like it's much more expensive than it is. The overall color is a darker silver, which goes well with almost any clothes. She thinks it's very elegant and is exactly her type of style.
