I purchased one of these Crucifixes just over a year ago. The best thing about it is the abuse it took. I took it off several times before giving it to a child in Guatemala during missionary work. After six months it began to tarnish. After a year the silver had worn off, but bear in mind I had removed the item but a few times. If one were to take it off at night, avoid hard labour, messy work, things that wore and tore my Crucifix, one could conceivably preserve it for years. Still, for roughly $6, one cannot beat the purchase. The metal had superior hold, the underlay of the silver plating was metal, and not resin, so when the silver broke down I was left with a golden brass looking Corpus, which in itself was still very attractive.
