Packaging:The box it arrived in is a simple black rectangular box (which has some sort of criss-cross pattern, matted) with the words Rougois embossed on the box cover with silver font. Without opening the box, it feels very heavy (almost 2 lbs) yet sleek; kind of like a small shoebox. The box itself looks like and feels like it is made with relatively decent cardboard material. The contents came with a small booklet by the company, describing the types of watches available as well as instructions for winding up this watch, as well as a small return form at the end for warranty purposes. The small booklet is well written, free from grammatical and spelling errors, and seems professional overall. The next object and the bulk of the weight is a display made from wood polished into a dark mahogany color. The frame holds in the center a flexible piece of clear plastic where the watch is wedged in. The watch is clamped and held together by a magnetic strip along one edge of the frame, discreetly borrowing that innovation from iPad covers. Overall, the display is impressive and feels substantial. The watch:Upon first glance, this is an impressive watch, especially for someone who haven't had many experiences with a skeleton watch (other than Stuhrling brands). The construction looks good: no missing pieces, blemishes, scratches or apparent flaws after several hours of inspection. I am not clear as to what type of movement they were constructed with, but it could be Chinese movement (otherwise they would proudly stamp that technical bit of information all over their website.) I worry that some companies don't enforce quality assurances, so things may have been missing if it was constructed quickly. Or, if the watch was assembled from different companies each specializing in one part, then somewhere it would've said something to that effect. Unfortunately the other brands of watches I've looked into all had similar functions, so it's hard to visually compare one brand over the other. The words "Genuine Leather" is printed on the back of the straps, which doesn't convince me of its authenticity any more than if it wasn't there.Company website:I don't know too much about this company, so I Googled them and didn't find much in thier publicity. Apparently their Facebook profile suggests that it was founded in 1995, but their company website stated that it was established in 2008(?), which runs off of a third party software called 3dcart. They have a north Miami customer service location, and their retail/partner stores are located around that same area. I am assuming that they operate at the manufacturing level, and they use other dealers to distribute their products, such as an online dealer called Big Fly Sports.Overall, I didn't let the price to influence buyer's remorse, nor will I try to justify the purchase. I am quite happy with the item so far, and I hope that this item will last.
