Seeing some other reviews stating how small this was, I measured it, and it's 17" from end to end. That's plenty big for most women, but you might want to measure your neck (mine is 13" at its base), and also measure other necklaces you wear that you like the length of. 16-18" is a common necklace length. This one is 15" to the beginning of the extension, and the extension adds another 2", for a total of 17", a pretty average length. I took a picture of it on me at full extension.It's absolutely gorgeous worn both as a choker and a little longer. I love the options that the extension gives you. I only wish it had come with care instructions. I'm going to clean this with water and a little mild dish detergent and hope for the best.

This is the second necklace I've purchased and I can't wear them as they are too short.Even with the extender, it measures 15" and the setting keeps getting flipped over.I suggest the manufacturer increase the overall length of the necklace and make optional products that can extend the necklace.I went elsewhere to purchase a 5" extender, but would have liked to have a better match to the box chain.So, the original necklace is really a choker and not what I was looking for.Just a suggestion and a warning.
