What is Cubic Zirconia?
Cubic Zirconia, also known as CZ, looks very close to a diamond because of its brilliance and sparkle but is actually a man-made crystalline material. Cubic Zirconia can be made into different colors but most CZ’s are colorless and flawless in clarity. CZ’s look so close to a natural diamond that most people, with an untrained eye, will not be able to tell the difference between it and a genuine diamond.
Commercial production of CZ began in the 1970’s, and demand has continued to grow over since. Cubic Zirconia provides the consumer the opportunity to own a beautiful item of jewelry with the look of a diamond.
What is Sterling Silver?
Sterling Silver is made of 92.5% parts pure silver and 7.5% parts other metal alloys (usually copper). The alloys are added to increase the hardness and durability of the metal so that it can be worn in every day jewelry. Sterling Silver is often plated with other metals to keep it from tarnishing (a natural reaction of the silver turning black over a period of time after being exposed to oxygen). White plating is usually done with Rhodium, a metal in the Platinum family. Yellow plating is usually done with yellow gold. Rose plating is usually done with rose gold. Sometimes silver can be plated with a clear liquid, called e-coat, that allows the silver metal color to show but seals it off from oxidation. Sterling silver is an alternative for a precious white metal, and allows you to get the same look. Precious metals are soft so avoid applying excess pressure or bending the metal to keep it from changing shape.
Jewelry Care
The best way to care for your jewelry is to make sure it is the last thing you put on and first thing you take off. Avoid exposing it to chemicals, like chlorine, strong detergents and ammonia that could damage the finish. If you need to clean your jewelry, a simple soak in warm water and a light brushing with a very soft toothbrush and a gentle wipe with a soft cloth should do the trick. Never sleep or work out in your jewelry. Avoid sonic jewelry cleaners as this can loosen stones set in soft metals.

***UPDATEAfter over 3 years of almost constantly wearing these 24/7, they have finally lost the beauty of the gold overlay. So now they just look like silver earrings. I took them off occasionally and cleaned them with jewelry cleaner (appropriate for overlay) every few months.. The backs are still secure and the large stones still have 90% of their original luster. The smaller ones are maybe at 70%, but they are just harder to clean. I'll be buying the gold ones again because I liked them so much.Original review: These look even more impressive in person.The sparkle of the main CZ stone is VERY impressive. I wish I had a camera that would pick up how they look in low light; they really capture any available light and sparkle beautifully.** The small stones also add a shimmery glow that is also present in fully lit rooms as well as dim ones.** But I tried - I have one with the flash on and one with it off. The pic also shows the size compared to the small 5/8" hoop I have in a second piercing.The small stones set on the bale are a wonderful touch because they make this pair of lever-backs seem like the real deal - fine jewelry with gold and diamonds - and not some cheap pair (which, price-wise they totally are!) So, best of both worlds, I can have a pair of earrings that is going to look terrific, but I won't stress if I lose one.As far as the lever-back closure, it is very secure and fits tightly in place - again, the feel if the closure is high-end. If you wear a lot of lever-backed earrings you know what I mean. There are many where the back closes, but not tightly, and ones where the back closing doesn't line up right to the post, so you have to fiddle to get it properly clamped, or ones where they just don't open easily and close with a 'snap!' so forceful and unexpected that it can catch your fingers or earlobe. I didn't find any of those issues with this pair. I put them on and took off several times to check.As far as durability, I plan to leave these on 24-7, with only taking them off when more 'fancy' occasions call for it..

The green “emerald” is very pretty and as pictured. The “diamonds are not as sparkly as pictured. But overall will work well for my daughters prom look.

I LOVE these earrings! They're a beautiful rose gold color and go with everything. My only complaint is the portion that goes through your ear seems wider than most earrings so if I wear them for too long or too many days in a row they'll start to hurt my ear. Definitely worth the price and will be getting them in a few colors!

These earrings are classy yet go with any outfit & they never bother me when they are in. I don’t have to tighter/loosen them. If I’m exhausted, I don’t HAVE to take them out which for me is an important feature because I like to have earrings in all the time. They look clean & you can’t beat the price for the look you get in return!
