Attractive and functional, this watch is a great choice for someone looking for a low cost pilot watch.

This is a quality imitation of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Pilot's Watch. I recommend anyone to buy this watch if they want to, but let me briefly list a few reservations:- The black leather band that this watch comes with is *solid* and very well-constructed. Despite this, as other reviewers have pointed out, it is inauthentic to history. The original WW2 Luftwaffe watches had rivets and white stitching. This band has black stitching on the front and white stitching on the back. I don't understand why they just didn't put white stitching on the front and attach some rivets. Because I am a stickler for authenticity and a bit obsessive, I purchased a 20mm "Tech-Swiss" pilot's watch band which has the white stitching and rivets. Unfortunately, while attempting to replace the watch strap, the buckle fell off of my pilot's band and I simply could not attach the spring-bar into the lugs. Tomorrow, I plan on taking it to a watch shop to get the pilot's band put on.- The second hand is black and is very difficult to see on the face's black background. Laco watch-hands are white and outlined in blue, and Chinese reproductions usually follow their example. I currently own the Seiko SNK809 field watch which is loosely based on this type of German vintage "B-Uhr" pilot's watch, and I own a 55mm Parnis "Big Pilot" watch which is an imitation of a German pilot's watch with an "A-Uhr" design (lacking the inner circle with 1-12 numbers). This Mil-Tec watch is a "B-Uhr" style design (i.e. with an inner ring on the face containing the numbers 1-12 inside).- This is a quartz battery watch whereas most Luftwaffe watches are automatics. You can tell by the way the second hand "ticks" around the face rather than sweeps.- The stainless steel case looks tarnished, giving the appearance of having been aged by smoke. It does not look polished or brushed. Luftwaffe watch cases had a "matte" finish that was neither tarnished, nor polished. With imitations that for whatever reason do not use the "matte" look, I would prefer the stainless steel be polished and/or brushed. All in all, this watch is very good quality for the price, I just wish they would update the leather watch band and watch hands. Keep in mind also that I just received this watch, so I cannot comment on its longevity.

I love the watch. Fantastic re-creation with very authentic WWII flieger design. Watch is really much more solid and well constructed than I expected. I own 6 watches, some more expensive than this, but this one feels as good as any. I wish they sold this in an Automatic - I would pay the extra. However, this Miyota Quartz movement is pretty high quality. The strap however is a disaster. Thick leather-coated foam pad strap is hard to get clasped and is very uncomfortable. But the strap really doesn't bother me much as I almost always upgrade the strap anyways. Replaced it with a nicer brown leather Barton strap that I had on hand - see pics. With strap upgrade, a very, very nice watch!

This is a decent watch, but it has a few problems. The biggest is that the second hand is black on a black dial, which makes it hard to see during daylight and impossible at night. The next big problem is the lume. Anyone familiar with the Type B Flieger, which is what this watch is a copy of, knows that the lume on those is usually all encompassing. This is limited to the inner circle, not including the numbers, and the hour and minute hand. The movement in this is a Miyota 2034, which isn't anything great. The case back is pressed on, so you're not changing your battery without a case back press.I anticipate the battery life will be somewhere around a year.I don't recall seeing any water resistance claims, but given the push in crown and pressed on case back with no gasket, this watch should be kept dry. One trip to the pool and this thing is almost certainly ruined. This is not a great watch. It is a decent watch. If you want the least expensive Type B Flieger available, this is the watch for you. If you want a watch that is going to last for years, this is probably not the watch for you.

I like it. For $75 bucks, it's not perfect, but it's pretty darn good. I'd buy it again for a good all around every day watch. The face of the watch isn't perfectly clean so in direct sunlight or direct light, you notice it if you look closely and if it were pointed out to you. You'd otherwise think the class was smudged or dirty. It looks like the assembler wasn't wearing gloves when it was put together. I may take it to a local shop and see if they can clean it. Again, for the price, it's an excellent buy. I'd buy it again without hesitation.*Update*I decided to return the watch for an exchange for one that had a clear / smudge free face. The return process was smooth, quick and the trouble free. The new watch arrived and looks perfect.

I was looking forward to a high quality watch and boy was I mistaken. The face is nice, but band is absolute trash, I immediately replaced it. And be careful this watch isn’t as heavy duty as it’s made out to be, primarily the “waterproof” claim. I took the watch fishing and under normal circumstances water made its way into the watch and under the watch face and is not permanently there. I spoke with Amazon about a potential replacement. They told me they couldn’t do anything for me, regardless of the less than true advertising. They said I needed to reach out to the manufacturer, but they couldn’t find any contact info for them. Save your money or buy a different watch from a retailer that stands behind their word.

As much as I would prefer to have the genuine watch, this is about as close as one can get without spending big dollars. And frankly, if I had the real thing, I would not wear it - it would sit in a display case. So this looks the part and I can wear it daily. Cool piece, quite pleased with it.
