Not real solid wood (should be at this price point) 2. The inside felt does not prevent tarnishing. This is a nicely made jewelry box with a big name price tag. This is a substantial jewelry box. It is big and heavy. The exterior is plain, white wood veneer over MDF. The interior is thoughtfully designed. The top portion includes hooks. The interior is lined in gray velvet. There is an easy sliding drawer. What is lacks in embellishment it make s up in design and construction. Solid.

I got the Reed and Barton White Lea Jewelry Box, 8.90 LB in square, though I prefer the look of the tall. This jewelry box is made from wood veneer over MDF. The outside is very smooth and I did not see any chips or scuffs.The lid opens to reveal hooks to hang necklaces on and a pouch to tuck the ends into. There is a flap that can be lifted to reveal ring cushions and a few compartments. That tray can be removed from the jewelry box to reveal more compartments. I really like that there is a hidden layer. At the bottom is a drawer with no compartments for larger pieces. These pieces are well made with no visible glue or other manufacturing flaws.This is a nice, functional jewelry box. It looks very classic.

I really liked the shape of this box, it's not gaudy or flashy so it will go well with most decor. It's not solid wood, just veneer, MDF and glued in velveteen.It is well made and looks good. There's a tray on the top that lifts out for smaller compartments below, and the lid has hooks and a little gathered section to hold loose chains and pendants securely in place.For this price I would have liked it to be made of solid wood but I know we can't be picky these days, that kind of quality costs much much more than the current price of 200 for this box.I am not sure I would rush out to order one at this price but it is one of the nicer ones I have found on Amazon.

Picked this up for my 8 year old daughter, and she's smitten with it. I'm happy for her- and happy she finally has someplace to put all of her stuff in one convenient location. The box itself is very pretty - a nice white finish, with a light grey inside including ring holders, necklace holders, and more. She could get everything organized into one place.I think she'll be able to use this for years and years. The box itself is quite hefty - not cheap material - and I see how it would retain that beauty.
