Notably, no glue is used in the assembly process. The orb then undergoes meticulous hand-sanding and preparation for design and finishing applications, resulting in a beautifully handcrafted and unique piece of art. |
The Design and Finishing is AppliedEach chime ball receives meticulous hand-finishing. The motif, crafted from Alpaca Silver or Brass, is intricately cut and skillfully soldered onto the sphere. I love cardinals - every time I see one I think of my mom and other lost loved ones. This necklace seems like it was made for me, and I love it.I got the black cord option, which is adjustable by about two inches. It's comfortable and easy to wear. I wish that the cardinal were a little lower in the bell though. It's placed very close to the top, so that when it's worn you don't really see it. It's not facing out, so to speak.The best thing about this necklace, though, is the chime. I was really afraid that it would be loud and that it would annoy me and be disruptive in quiet situations. It's absolutely not - it's quiet and very subtle. But it's a very pretty sound.The necklace came in a nice box and in a drawstring bag, along with several affirmation cards, which is sweet. This would make a great gift. And I think about my mother every time I hear the chime, and that brings a smile to my face.

My father passed away last year, and I've always associated cardinals with him - so this has sort of a special meaning for me. The pendant is a pretty red color with a shiny silhouette of a cardinal on it, and the cord chain is sturdy. The pendant being very spherical isn't something I'd want to wear on a regular basis, but I like to hang this where it catches my eye in my home, and when you shake the little ball, you hear a small, tinkling chime. I love that this isn't noisy or disturbing - and if you are wanting to wear it, it's not going to draw big attention to you as you go about your day. If you hold the pendant up to your ear, you can hear the chime draw out a little longer, which makes me smile. This would make a unique gift for someone that either enjoys cardinals or associates them with someone who has passed on (or as something to remember a loved one by). It's surprisingly soothing to me. I like to shake it for a moment and think of my dad. It gets two thumbs up from me!
