MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

If you're a snake lover, you probably already own plenty of serpent-themed items and jewelry. But our snake head pendant is different. The pendant itself is small and lightweight. Think of it like a snake at rest. But give it a light pinch at the back and it will open its mouth - ready for a bite! We came upon this idea after a lot of trial and error because we wanted to add an element of surprise to all our products.

HANDCRAFTED WITH PASSION

We love snakes as much as we love striving for excellence. So we wanted to ensure this project would not only meet our high standards but would also be a fun, versatile accessory anyone can enjoy. Our first attempts weren't successful. As such, we got back to the drawing board to try again.

The redesign featured a smaller, more handsome head with clear 3-D scales. The 'biting' action was improved with a better choice of spring and fine craftsmanship on the upper and lower jaw details. Open its mouth and you can see the snake's teeth! This rattlesnake head pendant is the result of our hard work, passion, and fascination with nature. We didn't leave anything to chance because we wanted you to have only the best.

THE STORY OF THE RATTLESNAKE

The name Crotalus comes from the Greek word κρόταλον, meaning rattle, a percussion instrument passed down in Greek folklore to describe the "rustling" sound a rattlesnake makes when it is threatened.

When offended by an intruder, many snakes will quickly shake their tails to intimidate the enemy, as if to say, "Stay away, or I'll do it again! But only rattlesnakes and pygmy rattlesnakes (Sistrurus) subtly upgrade this visual signal to a wider-ranging acoustic signal with the help of a ring.

The rattlesnake's high-frequency tail muscles cause the scales at the tip of the tail to rub rapidly against each other, emitting a continuous rattling sound, which is amplified by the ring's hollow cavity and becomes the rattlesnake's signature "rustling" sound.

Because of their fierce character, some politicians of the time, such as Benjamin Franklin, saw them as the best representation of the "American spirit".

In December 1775, the first flag of the Marine Corps, the Gadsden flag, was flown for the first time on a U.S. Navy ship. It was a yellow flag with a rattlesnake with its head coiled and a 13-knot ring on its tail, representing the 13 British colonies that preceded the founding of the United States. Underneath it is written "DONT TREAD ON ME", indicating that the United States will fight back as determinedly as a rattlesnake. So during the War of Independence more than 200 years ago, the rattlesnake once became the animal representing the United States.
