If you get a build-up of dirt or lotion in an intricate themed design or stone setting, simply use a soft toothbrush to dislodge the dirt and rinse in water, it's that simple.
The rainbow, blue, and gold plating is a hypoallergenic PVD plating over 316L surgical stainless steel, titanium, or tungsten. The hypoallergenic plating will hold up as well as anything that is plated. Pool and salt water will not make it change but harsh chemicals can affect the plating. You should always wear gloves or remove your rings when dealing with harsh chemicals. It's mainly friction from daily wear that would cause the plating to get scratched. When you wear any plated jewelry piece alongside others, it could be susceptible to scratching, just like any gold-plated jewelry piece.
