I selected this ring not as a gift however for myself. I lost my 15 year old nephew a month before ordering the ring and I was immediately drawn to anything that could signify how much I love and miss him. It is a cute ring, I just fear the constant adjusting to open and close will eventually break the arm off, so I decided not to wear it all the time. This would definitely make a nice gift as a condolence keepsake for the memory of their loved one. Ring comes in a nice giftbox, with certificate which tells you the meaning of the ring. This is my 2nd ring like this because I loved the other hug ring that signifies an angel feather. I would recommend this to anyone.
