Jewelry box is very sturdy, a simple, masculine, rectangle, the outside looks more dark brown than black, has a metal closure that will keep shut and can be locked with an included key, and the beige inside is soft material. There are two levels of compartments inside, the top tray lifts out to access the bottom, the dividers in the bottom can be completely removed if you want. There are rows to insert rings, the inside of the lid has a small flat pocket and five tabs to hang items from, and there is a separate card with holes for pierced earrings. The rolled travel case has two snaps to open and close, it is slightly glittery black on the outside, sold black on the inside. It contains a zippered compartment, a small soft pocket, three snap loops, and two removable straps to secure jewelry. I only rated four stars since the travel case does not lay flat when open, perhaps it will over time after more usage. The box is very practical and would make a nice gift.

TBH, I wanted to love this because it is so compact and comes with a travel pouch. However, i am pretty disappointed once i took it out of the box. The leather is thin and isn’t stretched nicely. There is so much extra material floating on top. The inside is made of cheap cardboard covered with a yellowish tint. It looks pretty badThe travel pouch is nice and sturdy. I would buy the travel pouch by itself but not the jewelry box

My jewelry box arrived with a big wrinkle in the faux leather on the top which is a shame since this is the most visible part of the box - I would definitely not find it giftable in this condition. The interior of the box is a pretty ivory color and well-done with 2 levels of storage compartments for jewelry storage. If I were designing the box, I would have used the ivory for the exterior and the black for the interior because the black exterior is such a distinctly masculine look with no embellishment to soften the appearance. Really like the separate jewelry roll that comes with the box. It has a sparkly finish and is compact in size, yet holds enough jewelry easily for a long weekend getaway. I would have given this jewelry box 5 stars if it had not arrived with a puckered top.
