Bought these to put in my regular ear lobe pirercings so that I could just keep them in at all times including while I sleep. The screw on balls mean there is nothing stabbing you in the neck if you are a side sleeper, which was exactly what I was looking for. They are very cute and sparkly.

These would be better as a flat back. Not sure why most cartilage jewelry has a ball backing and not flat back. The ball irritates the CRAP out of my ear. Never had any issues with the flat backs I've purchased, elsewhere, previously.
